In 1982 in American students around the country sat their SAT's. However 3 students got in touch with the exam board about one of the questions saying that one of the questions did not give the correct answer as an option. The question they were referring to is in the image below. What would your answer be?
Well the actual answer is 4!? Confusing right? Well its what we call the coin rotation paradox. This is when you calculate the number of rotations it will make but add 1 to account for the rotation it has made on its own axis. Want to put this to the test? Try it with a 2 two pence coins at home. Rotate the coin around the other and you will see it does indeed do 2 full rotations!
